I've never been a lover of earbud type headsets, perhaps after trying a few cheap uncumfortable models, so I decided it was time to give them another chance.

I'd never used bluetooth before, so I thought this was an ideal chance to try it out. My idea was to use the headset all over the house and listen to MP3's, TV audio while doing chores etc.

After opening the clear plastic display packaging (Something I hate) I found the nice red and black device. The main body has a decent clip for attaching it to your shirt (the cables are not long enough for it to fit on your belt). The cables for the earbuds are also red and quite flexible indicating that they should have a long life. I feel it would have been nice if they had a plug so you could remove them or use a different set / headphones.

In the packaging is an AC charger and an extensive intruction book, this was kind of surprising when you consider that there is only three buttons to control the headset.  Charging takes about 2 hours and then you are ready to rock.

On holding down the button on the cable controller the headset begins to run (hold it longer for the discovery process) The headset has just 2 other buttons, volume up and down.

The sound quality was a little disapointing, but I can certainly live with it for what I'm using it for. They work great while I'm using our treadmill, the clip holds on quite well and has never fallen off. I'm using this heaset with a trendnet bluetooth adaptor and when you connect the headset it offers 2 different modes of connection.  One is Bluetooth headset service and the other is Bluetooth AV service, the latter is the one I use because the sound quality is just awful on the former.

The range is a little disapointing also, I certainly cant use it all over the house, in fact, it doesn't work that well when you get anything more than about 10 feet away.  Perhaps this is just a limitation of the Trendnet adaptor, I have no expreience with other adaptors, so it's too early to say. The spec's say 10m, but it seems much less.

Overall, while the sound quality wasn't quite what we expected, the headset is pretty simple to use, has good battery life and works well. The range is shorter than we had hoped, but perhaps that is typical for bluetooth devices.
